GASE Gas Exchange respects your privacy and processes personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). This policy explains what we collect, why we need it and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
When you place an order, send an enquiry or subscribe to the GASE Dispatch, we collect the details you give us: your name, email address, phone number, company name, delivery address, suburb and any notes you add. We also record the products ordered, the order value and the date and time of the request.
Why we use it
- To confirm, prepare and deliver your order, including sending the driver to the right address.
- To contact you about your order, a delivery window or a safety issue.
- To answer enquiries and manage trade accounts.
- To send the monthly GASE Dispatch, if you asked for it.
- To keep the records we are required to keep for tax, safety and consumer-protection purposes.
Who sees it
Your information is used by the GASE team and the service providers who help us run the site and send email. We do not sell your personal information. We may share delivery details with a contracted driver or courier, and we may disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Order and tax records are kept for the period required by South African law. Enquiries are kept for up to 24 months. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete information we are not legally required to retain.
Your rights
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it where we are allowed to, or object to certain processing. You may unsubscribe from marketing at any time using the link in the email or by contacting us.
Cookies
This site uses local browser storage to remember your order while you shop. We do not use advertising trackers. Basic server logs may record your IP address and browser for security and troubleshooting.

Gas Run leaderboard and prize
When you enter the monthly GASE Gas Run, we collect your first name, email address, score, run duration, number of cylinders collected and the month of entry. We use this to operate the leaderboard, contact the monthly winner and prevent duplicate or fraudulent entries. The public leaderboard shows only your first name, score and run duration — never your email address.
If you tick the optional marketing box, we will also use your email to send GASE offers and gas reminders. You can unsubscribe at any time. If you do not tick it, your email is used only for the competition and the prize.
Game entries are kept for 24 months for prize administration and leaderboard history, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. You can request access, correction or deletion by emailing hello@gase.co.za.
